Childhood

What is education/life for children like?

Children of the poor classes would be expected to attend the local public school until their parents could not pay their fees anymore, then they would work at the factories with their parents to earn for the family. For extremely poor families, their children would get no education at all or start work at the factories from the age of 7 or even lower to provide that income. But, children of the upper classes completed their education like we do today. They went to a private primary and secondary school, usually divided by sex. The girls would do subjects such as literature, French and how to properly manage a home. Boys would do much more academic based
subjects and would be encouraged to continue into tertiary education to become things such as a doctor or a lawyer etc.  The cycle of under education and higher education would continue through the generations, leaving the poor children unable to get a proper education and get an occupation outside of the factories, giving the higher class children an unfair advantage.
